E14 Cabochon Caps for Amusement Ride Repairs & Fairground Lighting

The dome that completes your light point — clear, crisp, and built for professional use.

This clear E14 cabochon light cap is the domed cover that clips over the top of your assembled light base and LED bulb, completing each individual light point on your display. The clear finish allows your bulb's full brightness to shine through unfiltered — ideal for a clean white or warm glow on light-up letters, fairground signage, and amusement ride borders where maximum brightness is the priority. It uses a standard E14 (small Edison screw) fitting and is the same cap used across our own professional letter displays, hired for weddings, corporate events, and venue installations across the UK.

Specifications:

  • Fitting: E14 (small Edison screw)
  • Cap diameter: 60mm
  • Profile: Domed
  • Compatible voltage: 24V or 240V E14 bulbs
  • Material: Clear polycarbonate
  • Sold individually — order the quantity you need

What it's used for: This cap is suitable for light-up letter builds, fairground-style signage, marquee borders, illuminated props, and replacement repairs on existing displays. If you're replacing a cracked, yellowed or missing cap on an existing letter or ride, this is the part you need. If you're building from scratch, you'll also need an E14 LED bulb and an E14 base — see our Full Light Set for the complete assembly.

Who buys this: Event hire companies topping up their letter sets, sign makers building custom illuminated displays, amusement park operators and ride maintenance engineers sourcing fairground spare parts, and DIY builders creating their own fairground-style letters for weddings or parties.

Compatibility: Works with all standard E14 cabochon bases and E14 LED bulbs rated at 24V or 240V. Not suitable for E10 fittings — if you're unsure which size you need, check the diameter of your existing base or contact us.

How can it be used? To create one completely working light point, you will need the following components working together:

  • E14 Cabochon Base — the conic housing that sits in your letter panel or ride fascia
  • E14 Cabochon Cap — the domed cover that clips over the base and bulb
  • E14 LED Bulb — the light source that screws into the base via the Edison screw thread
  • Nut and nut holder — used to secure the base firmly into your panel or fascia, ensuring the unit stays fixed in place during use, transport, and repeated setup

All four components are required for a fully functional, secure light point. This listing covers the cap only — see our E14 cabochon base, E14 LED bulbs, and Full Light Set for the remaining components.

FAQs

Are these suitable for funfair and travelling fairground equipment?

Yes. Our E14 bases are built for the robust, repeat-use demands of the events and fairground industry — not lightweight decorative products. They're the same bases we use in our own professional letter fleet, which gets loaded, transported, set up and taken down repeatedly across the year. For travelling fairs and seasonal operators who need reliable replacement parts quickly, we offer next-day UK delivery on certain components.

What's the difference between E10 and E14 bases?

E10 and E14 refer to the diameter of the Edison screw fitting — 10mm and 14mm respectively. E14 is the larger of the two and is used in bigger letters (typically 80cm tall or more) where a 60mm cabochon cap is fitted. E10 is used in smaller letters with 40mm caps.

How many bases do I need for a light-up letter?

It depends on the letter size and bulb spacing. A typical 4ft letter can use approximately 6 - 14 light points. We recommend measuring your letter's perimeter and spacing bulbs every 4–6cm for a full, even glow.

Can I use this base with a 240V bulb?

Yes. This base is compatible with both 24V and 240V E14 bulbs. If you're running a 240V setup, ensure your wiring and power supply are rated accordingly.

Do you sell the bulb and cap separately?

Yes — we sell E14 LED bulbs, coloured cabochon caps, and a Full Light Set (base + bulb + cap) as a complete assembly. See our components collection for all options.

Can I use E14 cabochon bases as amusement ride spare parts?

Yes. E14 cabochon bases are standard components across a huge range of fairground and amusement park rides. They are used on ride canopies, ticket booth fascias, carousel borders, waltzer cars, ghost trains, big wheels, dodgem arenas, and fun house entrances — anywhere that classic fairground bulb lighting is fitted. If you're replacing worn, cracked or missing bases on a ride, our E14 clear bases are direct replacements for the standard 60mm fitting used across most traditional fairground equipment. We stock year-round and can fulfil trade quantities — contact us if you need a bulk order.

Do you sell replacement parts for fairground rides and amusement equipment in bulk?

Yes. While our website is set up for individual and small-quantity orders, we regularly supply trade customers — including event hire companies, sign makers, amusement park operators and ride maintenance engineers — with larger quantities of components. If you need 50, 100 or 500+ bases, contact us directly for a trade price. We can also advise on compatible bulbs, caps and wiring components for your specific installation.

Do you ship E14 bases outside the UK?

Yes — we ship to Europe and internationally. UK orders qualify for next-day delivery. For international shipping rates and timescales, add your items to the cart and use the shipping calculator at checkout, or contact us directly for large trade orders.
